All I've seen lately is the 1.9 TDI which they also offer, but are the newer block (not the 1Z), so mounts are different. The 1.9 IDI (AAZ) is a 'drop-in', only being 16mm taller than the 1.6. the NA is ~66HP, and the TD ~74 (with the smaller 1.9 turbo) They all have squirters and are TD compatible (at least mine are) I got mine with 1.6 Hyd 1.6 TDI engine - Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, Seat. The 1.6 TDI engine was launched in March 2009, and although it was based on the larger 2.0 TDI CR, differs from it in several solutions. The modern design uses a common-rail system, a four-valve cylinder head, piezo injectors, a plastic intake manifold, a floating flywheel, a variable geometry Either a 2.0 FSI, the 1.9 TDI, a later model 2.0 TDI or a GTI engine is the best choices of engines, the 1.4 75PS is slow and the 1.6fsi is slower on the road than the 1.9 and the cost of running premium fuel (which you have to do otherwise you'll get all sorts of rough running problems and emissions lights) negates any cost deficit in terms of The 1.9 litre unit seemed to deliver everything at about 2500 rpm, I drove a 1.9 PD130 before and it seemed to be faster than my current 2.0TDI engine but when you run some benchmark tests on regular bits of road it isnt the case. IMO i think the 1.9 unit sounds much better than the 2.0. You can barely hear the turbo on the new one which is a The T-reg is much more comfortable. Power is better. Pittsburgh is not quite, but almost as bad as Boston for winter weather so the 4wd will be a nice asset. Mileage drops by around 1/3 from jetta to touareg, but with the diesel, it's still much better than comparable gas vehicles. I looked at other diesel suv's & Touareg was the only choice Volvo 2,4 D6 diesel or Audi 2,0 5 cylinder diesel. Both same 36x104x4 intakes. I have the 1.6 tdi. I like it. I find it gets to speed quite quickly in 3rd and 4th. The 2.0 fr owners though seem to be getting better mpg than me though. It's quite hard to get a high mpg in the 1.6 because it has to work harder to get to speed and has one less gear. But the new ecomotive has 6 gears and a nice body kit. If you plan on making your next car purchase in 2010 or 2015 then I would definitely recommend the TDI. Properly serviced, it will last much longer than a 1.8T. And when late-in-life problems do pop up, the TDI engine is simpler than the 1.8T, especially in the top end (2 valves/cyl for the TDI vs 5 valves/cyl for the 1.8T). If you want refinement and sub-50 mpg, get the 2.0. I drove 140K miles in my Vento 1.9 TDI, and it returned 55mpg over this period. The 2.0 Eos I
